5 Ways to Rise Above Seasonal Depression

During this period of time its so easy to slump into your sofa and practically hibernate but that could set you back and even though its tough to do you have to decide to keep going!

There is an old saying that goes like this “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Which one are you? I know your not about to quit on yourself and submit to not being “tough” right!? Heck no your not going to quit!

You are going to smash your workouts this week and read this great article to sharpen your mental toughness and kick the crap out of seasonal depression! Read on and put these things to practice.

  1. Get your body temperature up– Do something that is going to make you SWEAT A LOT! Get on a treadmill with many layers on, sit in a sauna or steam room. Do something that will get your core temperature up! Classes at Peak like Boot Camp, Kickboxing, Zumba, and Step will do the trick! Try those out.

  2. Develop an interest in an outdoor activity- FInding a fun outdoor activity to enjoy will force you to go outside, and hopefully into nature. We as humans need to spend more time out in the woods. There are unseen benefits that we probably haven’t even defined with science. I always feel much more relaxed and positive after a good country side drive.

  3. Consider a UV Lamp- You can now purchase a UV lamp on Amazon for under $40, and it will brighten up your mode by giving you much need Vitamin D! If you have a bad case of SAD, this is a must!
